Substitute teachers for Fairmont Area Schools are employed through Teachers On Call (TOC). TOC recruits substitute teachers year round. Individuals who hold a bachelor's degree in any field may serve as a substitute teacher by applying for a Short Call Substitute Teaching license. This process is not a difficult one and a license can generally be obtained in 3-4 weeks.
Fairmont Area Schools rate of pay for substitute teaching is $100/day. In addition, substitute teachers receive an ID badge allowing them free admission to all Fairmont Area Schools regular season home athletic and fine arts activities.
