"Q and A" with Mrs. Clarey
Q: What is your favorite book to read to your class?
A: Hands down, without a doubt, Freak the Mighty! The characters are so genuine and absolutely lovable. Every year, my students say it's the best book ever written. The sequel Max the Mighty is also a big hit.
Q: What is the best book you have ever read?
A: The Book Thief, by Zusak. The narrator is both shocking and endearing. I will read it again, and again, and again...
Q: What do you like best about teaching?
A: THE KIDS!!! I also like the challenge of becoming a better teacher by learning new things and collaborating with my colleagues.
Q: What is your most embarassing moment as a teacher?
A: One day I wore two different black shoes to school. Of course my students noticed and brought it to my attention. I told them I couldn't decide which one looked better, so I wore them both. ;)
Q: What are 10 things you couldn't live without?
A: I would be miserable without my family and friends, my career, laughter, music, books, coffee, warm weather, vacations, and Special K bars.
Q: What are your future plans and goals?
A: I hope to write a series of children's books some day. I have some really good ideas for characters and plots. Students, don't worry, I will change your names to protect your identities.
Q: What is one thing most people don't know about you?
A: I climbed Blue Mountain Peak, the highest mountain in Jamaica.
