Mrs. Wille's 2nd Semester Schedule
This course consists of reading selected poems, short stories, and novels. Students will use reading strategies to fully comprehend their reading. Analysis of the text will also be addressed as students will identify themes and other literary techniques by using close-analysis reading.
Students will also do an extensive amount of writing, as they will be expected to write--in some form--every single day. Some of the longer writing projects that will be undertaken this year include: five-paragraph historical narrative, research paper, and persuasive essay. In addition, journals and other in-class writing assignments will help each student become a successful writer.
This course is preparation for higher-level English classes and because of this, we will be focusing on grammar and writing mechanics. We will review the parts of speech and practice how to be an error-free writer.
